The Story Behind SnagMag
Our business story is not a typical one. We didn’t decide to create a product and sell it to the public. I had no intention of quitting my teaching job to learn about the gun industry. I suppose you can say it was all a happy detour. Here is our story:
The SnagMag was invented by my husband, a plain clothes LEO who wanted a better option for carrying a spare magazine while off duty. Carrying it loose in his front pocket wasn’t ideal, as it was uncomfortable, would turn sideways or get tangled up with other items. Belt carry was out. Coat pockets get holes. There had to be something out there, right? After an extensive search, he didn’t find anything. One day, while shooting at the local range, he looked down at the knife in his pocket, and instantly had an idea for a mag holster. He quickly sketched it out, grabbed some Kydex, and started to tinker around. After a year of tinkering, testing and fine tuning with his buddy, the SnagMag was born. It was rough around the edges, but. . .it WORKED! Not only did it work, but it was comfortable and designed for a fast draw. He showed it to a friend, who showed it to a friend – and, as they say, the rest is history!
Many things inspired the SnagMag, but one true account stood out to me as a wife. An off-duty officer was having dinner with his wife around Valentine’s Day at a local mall. A gunman started shooting. The officer instructed his wife to call 911, and left to engage the shooter. He was overheard saying something like, “I can’t be doing this! I only have 7 rounds!” Now, we all know a gun fight only lasts as long as the ammo. After hearing that story, I encouraged my husband to move forward with SnagMag.
Honestly, we NEVER intended for SnagMag to become a thriving business. We were encouraged by key people in the gun industry to apply for a patent. We started out in our garage. Before we knew it, orders started rolling in, taking over our living room and kitchen. A favorite memory of ours: A family picnic on the kitchen floor, because every surface was covered with orders. We are thankful to those influential people who encouraged, guided, and believed we had a special product. We’ve grown, made improvements, and connected with customers across the country. We truly believe the SnagMag to be a life saving addition to Every Day Carry.

I have used these for pushing 6 years I believe. They are excellent for daily non ninja carry. I keep my magazine stored in it over night so it is like putting on you knife. Any cons: they are a bit expensive and the snag wing can break with hard use. Customer service seems responsive and polite.I will continue to use these every day as it works.
From SnagMag:
If anything breaks during normal use, it’s covered under the warranty. We will send you a replacement at no charge.

This thing works. Purchased one at the NRA expo. Liked it so much I purchased another one for my son. Right handed shooter, left hand pocket. A little rearward pressure when drawing the magazine, and it snags on the pocket hem allowing the magazine to draw
cleanly draw free. A little practice and this thing is as intuitive as drawing a tactical folder. One less thing on my belt! But the best part is, being an average guy, I believe I’m actually faster reloading from the Snagmag than from any belt mounted magazine holder. Reaching towards the pocket is just naturally intuitive. By the time we’re adults, we already have a thousand reps reaching into our pockets. Still got to practice, but the mechanical template is there. For me, this thing just works.

Must have accessory for your magazine
Joe Driskill –
I don’t leave home without it!
Norman –
Will not fit the magazine for Kimber Ultra 9mm or Remington R-51 9mm
Thom Bieler –
Kinda defeats the purpose of concealed carry when I have a Glock magazine baseplate poking out the top of my pocket.
George S –
I am very satisfied with the Snagmag for my G48 backup magazine. It fits easily in my pocket and does not restrict access to other items in the pocket, like a set of car keys.

This is the 3rd of 4th snag mag i have purchased from your company. The magazines have always fit perfectly. When you hang them upside down, they don’t fall out. The latest snag mag I ordered for my Kimber Micro 9, is extremely loose and when you turn it upside down it falls right out. Not sure if the wrong snag mag was sent to me or if this is how they now fit?

Thomas McClimans –
SnagMag is the best pocket-carry option for reloads I’ve ever seen, makes it very convenient to always have at least one reload when I carry concealed. Love it!
Vern Ross –
It would be nice if it had a flat surface for IWB use.
Nathan Carr –
Quality product! Smart design, solid assembly, durable, retains in the pocket during draw and conceals as advertised. I purchased my first SnagMag for my Glock 43, immediately put it to the test during a concealed carry course, and shooting IDPA BUG. I did the same when I purchased one for my Glock 43x I was more than happy with the results. I wear a variety of pants with different materials, the SnagMag grips even the lightest and slickest hiking pants I have. I purchased one for a LEO friends off duty G26, he instantly loved it. Defiantly a force multiplier! The companies customer service is excellent, the web sight is user friendly, and they have great shipping speed. A must have for Every day carry kit, or LEO’s.

I now have 2 of these magazine holsters, one for my Ruger LCP and one for my Sig Sauer P938. I really love having it to carry a spare magazine for each of my concealed weapons. They work really great.

I bought the snag mag because I like things that are smartly designed. The Snagmag works exactly as described which is wonderful. Three flaws: 1. The mag rides at the top of my pocket and without a long garment displays a magazine base for all to see. I wonder if the design could put it in deeper consealment. 2. Price is high for a clip and kydex. However, I knew what I was paying. 3. I worry about durability. The genius of the clip is a very narrow piece of kydex. All this being saiid, the Snagmag does what it says and really is a small stroke of genius. Great stuff.

Decent product.

Don’t know about others, but I’ve had a hard time finding mag carriers for the Ruger LCP, and even then they would like…well, mag carriers. The Snag Mag solved the problem nicely. Took me a little bit to get used to using it, but then I should have read the directions first, you think? Works great, and I’m pleased with it.

Otherwise a great way to carry spare mag. Best I have seen on the market
